The match-up between the two Australasian foes’ champion sides on Saturday should provide the entertainment highlight in this weekend Super Rugby Trans Tasman competition.
The Reds, who sneaked through in against the Brumbies in Super Rugby’s AU tense final, will hope to again go one better than the Brumbies last weekend when the Reds are at home to Crusaders, runaway champions of New Zealand.
Last weekend Saders had to dig deep against a great comeback by the ACT side when the Brumbies came within a conversion from their score. But then, the Reds weren’t too chirpy in their match where they went down to the Highlanders, 19-40 last weekend.
The kick-off in this fifth and final match of the weekend’s second round is on Saturday 11:45 SA time.
▲In other matches this weekend, the Hurricanes, who scored then tries against the Waratahs last weekend, kick off against the Rebels who went down to the Blues in last weekend’s the first round. With the Wellington side at home, the Rebels woes will probably continue.
▲The Western Force, who kept the losing New Zealand Super Rugby Aotearoa finalists Chiefs on their toes last weekend, are at home to the Highlanders. They could well break the run of Australian losses after last weekend’s 5-0 clean sweep for the New Zealand sides, unless the Rebels spring a surprise of note.
▲The Blues, at home, should make it a tenth successive loss and winless season for the Waratahs while the Brumbies, playing away against the Chiefs, could at their best produce an upset.
