Lions coach Swys de Bruin is fit and well and will take over the team’s coaching again on Monday.
The Lions have a bye this weekend, and play the Waratahs at Ellis Park next Saturday. The Waratahs face the Bulls at Loftus this weekend.
De Bruin returned from New Zealand before the match against the Chiefs, which the Lions won 23-17, for what was called medical reasons. On his return it was confirmed that his condition was stress related and subsequently that he was making good progress.
Ivan van Rooyen, who took charge of the Lions during the Currie Cup competition last year, was the caretaker coach in De Bruin’s absence.
