Jantjies punished for breaking Lions 'team protocol'

Springbok hooker Malcom Marx is back in the Lions team and will again captain them when the play the Stormers on Saturday, but Bok flyhalf Elton Jantjies has been dropped.

Jantjies' omission has nothing to do with the two intercept tries by the Sharks from his passes on Saturday that ultimately gave victory to the Durban side. It has been confirmed by the Lions that his omission stems from breaking team protocols.

The nature thereof is not known.

Shaun Reynolds will start at flyhalf against the Stormers. He will have Springbok scrumhalf Ross Cronjé as his partner after Nic Groom started against the Sharks.

In the pack, Marx replaces Jan-Henning Campher while tighthead prop Carlü Sadie is also back in place on Johannes Jonker.

Cyle Brink moves to openside flank, Vincent Thsituka returns as blindside flank and Marnus Schoeman moves to the bench.
