Bulls likely to exploit Elton's tackling weakness at inside centre

Springbok flyhalf Elton Jantjies has been selected at inside centre by Lions coach Swys de bruin for the all-important Super Rugby clash with the Bulls at Loftus on Saturday. Jantjies’ return is one of four changes to the starting side.

While Jantjies’ skills and playmaking ability is well-known, his defence is suspect. Jantjies is high on the list of players who have missed the most tackles in this season’s Super Rugby series.

It could well be a weakness that the Bulls will try to exploit with Burger Odendaal as his direct opponent and Johnny Kotze another big centre to Odendaal's outside.

Centre Harold Vorster makes way for Jantjies while Shaun Reynolds is retained as flyhalf.

Vorster, who started against the Hurricanes last week but was replaced by Jantjies, who made his comeback to the side from the bench.

He missed the game two weeks ago for breaking the team displinary code.

♦ Inother changes for the Lions last match of the regular season Hacjivah Dayimani starts at No 8 in the place of the injured Kwagga Smith, Rhyno Herbst returns to resume his lock partnership with Marvin Orie while Tyrone Green gets the nod at wing.

Reinhard Nothnagel and Courtnall Skosan drop to the bench, and Dillon Smit and Wandisile Simelane are also drafted into the match 23.

Kick-off is at 17:15.
