Bosch's move to fullback doesn't make sense before must-win game

It can’t be for rotational purposes, because Curwin Bosch is in the starting side for Saturday night’s away match against the Jaguares – but not as flyhalf. But Bosch, who has been exciting with his running and judicious in his kicking, has been moved to fullback.

Robert du Preez will be starting at flyhalf.

At the rist of being called a cockroach, as coach Robert du Preez has recently referred to the press: It doesn’t make sense before a must-win match for the Sharks.

Has Rassie Erasmus perhaps requested to see Bosch as fullback where he is perfectly at home? That's the only reason for the move that makes sense.

Aphelele Fassi, who was taken off after a single knock under a high ball and replaced after a very good season to date, has been relegated to the Sharks bench. It was Du Preez who was then brought on, before halftime, to take over as flyhalf and Bosch was moved to fullback in Afassi’s place.

Another du Preez brother is in the news with the team selection. This time flank Jean-Luc has an MCL niggle and is rested with Paul Tyler coming into the side in his place.

Jean-Luc has really been in the wars in recent seasons and has only had short fit spells between injuries to convince Rassie Erasmus that he should be in the World Cup squad.

In other changes, Hyron Andrews starts at No 4 lock in place of Ruben van Heerden, who moves to the bench, where centre Jeremy Ward and scrumhalf Zee Mkhabela replace Kobus van Wyk and Cameron Wright in the match-day squad.
