Two of three Stormers Bok captains injured; Kitshoff to lead

The Stormers are without two of their three Springbok captains for Saturday’s derby against the Lions and Steven Kitshoff will captain them in a match that is important to win for both teams.

Siya Kolisi and Pieter-Steph du Toit are not available because of injury and Eben Etzebeth, in what has been a somewhat stop-start season, returns after last week’s withdrawal because of flu.

With Kolisi (knee), Du Toit (shoulder) and Kobus van Dyk (knee) ruled out due to injuries, there are a number of changes to the Stormers pack.

Etzebeth returns to the second row as partner to Cobus Wiese. Sikhumbuzo Notshe will start at No 8, with Jaco Coetzee moving to openside flank. Johan du Toit gets a start as No 7 flank.

In the front row there is a rotational change with Wilco Louw in the starting line-up as staring prop and Frans Malherbe on the bench.

The backline remains unchanged from the one that played in the 34-22 win against the Highlanders at Newlands last week.
